Matt Hagan is a seasoned leader in commercial real estate with over 18 years of experience in investments, asset management, development, site selection and leasing. He’s tapped into these various disciplines in assisting clients in sourcing and evaluating commercial real estate investment opportunities. Matt joined Healthcare Realty Advisors to leverage his previous experience in healthcare real estate, an ever-growing and critically important component of the commercial real estate landscape.
Most recently, Matt served as Vice President – Market Officer for Regency Centers (NASDAQ: REG), a nationally-known, Fortune 500 real estate investment trust with a total asset value of over $10 billion. In this role, Matt served in a leadership role as a corporate officer to manage the leasing, redevelopment, and operations of a 2.6 million square-foot commercial real estate portfolio in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, valued at approximately $800 million. In addition to direct management over leasing and property management functions, Matt was actively involved in strategic deployment of capital for the acquisition of new shopping centers and redevelopments throughout the Carolinas region.
Matt began his career at Regency as a leasing professional in South Florida and Atlanta, where he handled the leasing for properties in Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina, and thereafter served as a Manager of Investments in Regency’s South Florida office in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. During this time, Matt completed over 500 transactions, totaling over 1.2 million square feet, in over 50 operating properties and new developments throughout Florida and the Southeast.
Prior to Regency, Matt served in a corporate real estate role at Sherwin-Williams where he handled the site selection and lease negotiation, which led to the opening of 60 new stores and regional office locations throughout Florida, the Southeast and the Mid-Atlantic.
Matt was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated Magna Cum Laude from The College of Charleston with a BS in Business Administration. He later obtained his MBA from the Hough Graduate School of Business at the University of Florida. Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Dana, and his two children, Liza and Zachary, as well as exercising, playing basketball and watching college football and basketball.
